"The boots and mitts are absolutely AMAZING — super comfy and perfectly warm for this Icelandic weather. Very resistant as well."

Maximum warmth for the most extreme conditions.
The Lunasurf 8mm Yamamoto Surf Boot is made from 100% Yamamoto neoprene — warmer and more durable than standard neoprene — delivering serious insulation for surfers who push into the coldest waters on the planet.
Trusted by Lunasurf ambassadors in the world's coldest waters.
When winter arrives, your equipment matters more than ever.
The Lunasurf 8mm Wetsuit Boots are built for riders who refuse to let freezing water cut their sessions short. Constructed from 100% Yamamoto #39 Japanese limestone neoprene, they deliver exceptional warmth, outstanding comfort, and premium performance in the harshest cold water conditions.
Whether you're surfing, kitesurfing, wing foiling, windsurfing, SUP, or river surfing, the 8mm is designed to keep your feet warmer for longer, so you can focus on the conditions—not the cold.
The material beneath your feet is just as important as the wetsuit covering the rest of your body.
That's why every Lunasurf boot is made entirely from 100% Yamamoto #39 Japanese limestone neoprene—one of the world's highest-performing neoprene materials.
Compared to traditional petroleum neoprene, Yamamoto #39:
The result is a boot that stays consistently warm, lightweight and comfortable from your first paddle to your last wave.
Every detail has been designed for demanding winter conditions.
✔ High-top design for extra ankle coverage and a secure overlap with your wetsuit to help minimise water flushing.
✔ Wide reinforced Velcro® strap keeps the boot firmly locked to your foot throughout your session.
✔ Durable high-grip sole provides confident footing across icy rocks, slippery reefs, riverbanks and long walk-ins.
✔ Quick ankle pull loop makes getting your boots on and off easier, even when your hands are cold.
✔ Plush recycled thermal lining traps warmth, dries quickly between sessions, and feels soft against your skin.
✔ Silky smooth outer jersey maximises stretch and flexibility, allowing the boot to move naturally despite its increased thickness.
Every feature has one purpose: keeping you warmer, longer.
The 8mm is designed for riders who spend their winters in serious cold water.
Ideal for:
It's also the ideal choice if you naturally feel the cold, spend long hours in the water, or simply want the warmest boot possible.
Many Lunasurf riders choose the 8mm once water temperatures reach around 10°C, preferring warmer feet over thinner boots.
Your feet are usually the first part of your body to feel the cold.
Once they lose warmth, the cold gradually spreads, your energy drops, and sessions become shorter than they should be.
Keeping your feet warm helps your whole body stay comfortable, allowing you to stay focused, surf better, and enjoy more time in the water.
The difference isn't just comfort—it's how long you can keep doing what you came for.
Choose the 8mm if you:
If your conditions are generally between 7°C and 13°C, or you're looking for a lighter all-round option, the Lunasurf 4mm is the better choice.
Many riders own both—the 4mm for milder conditions and the 8mm when winter really arrives.
Lunasurf boots aren't designed in a warm office and tested once.
They're worn and trusted in the cold waters of Scotland, Norway and Iceland, where freezing air, icy river water and long winter sessions demand equipment that performs when it matters most.
Every design decision has been shaped by real-world cold water experience.
Pair your 8mm boots with a Lunasurf Yamamoto wetsuit, gloves or mitts, and hood for complete cold water protection.
Keeping your extremities warm makes a remarkable difference to comfort, performance, and how long you can stay in the water.
The best winter sessions are often the ones few people ever experience.
Cold water. Offshore winds. Empty lineups.
The Lunasurf 8mm Yamamoto Wetsuit Boots are built to help you make the most of them, delivering exceptional warmth, flexibility, and comfort when the conditions are at their coldest.

Super Light Weight ECO friendly Non-Petroleum based Japanese limestone neoprene with the perfect balance between warmth, stretch and durability.
Rubber made from the purest Japanese limestone.
The limestone that YAMAMOTO use is sourced from Mt. Kurohime, which stores billion tons of the purest Japanese limestone. Out of such purest limestone, YAMAMOTO only uses the highest-grade limestone, containing 99.7% of calcium carbonate.

The closed cells are packed together at an extremely high density and each individual cell is filled with nitrogen gas to prevent water penetration and increase heat retention. The nitrogen closed cell content is over 93% — over 30% higher than most competing materials — and with virtually no water absorption means the weight of this rubber remains nearly identical in wet or dry conditions, giving you more warmth than thicker wetsuits without the weight.

Yamamoto Corporation’s neoprene rubber is classified as (CR) “chloroprene rubber.” The special rubber incorporates an independent closed cell structure which adds high functionality including super light weight, high heat‐retention with good flexibility neoprene.
Sustainability

Renewable Energy.
Petroleum Oil
Is expected to be depleted in next 50 years. Limestone, on the other hand, can be utilized for a wetsuit material semi-permanently.
Renewable Energy Sources
When making CR from limestone, it requires a lot of energy. To reduce environmental impact, most of the energy used comes from renewable energy sources such as hydroelectricity.
Longer Product Lifetime
As CR is excellent at performance such as weather resistance, CR wetsuits last longer.
One of the most eco-friendly ways to achieve sustainability is to use one product for a longer time in order to facilitate that the product has to last longer.

Ocean Polution
Our beautiful blue sea is now in danger of being covered by marine debris.
It is estimated that there are 150 million tons of plastic waste in the ocean and at least 8 million tons are flowing in the ocean annually. Reference: WWF Japan WEB site "About marine plastic problems"
YAMAMOTO is working on recycled jersey materials to reduce pollution of the ocean and to let more people to be aware of this issue. It is estimated that the number of marina debris is going to exceeds the one of fish in 2050.
YAMAMOTO will continue to work on solutions to conserve our beautiful ocean.

Lunasurf Wetsuit Boots are awesome things, with today’s technology we can stay warm and have fun in the coldest of conditions. You can feel light, loose and warm unlike the wetsuits of yesteryear. Our wetsuits are 100% made using only the best Yamamoto Japanese limestone based neoprene's. That are then lined with a water/wind repelling buttery, stretchy lining that insulates you from the cold water water, air temps and winds. Your Wetsuit is made up of panels of Neoprene. Wetsuits are not designed to keep you entirely dry. A small amount of water gets trapped between your body and the neoprene. Your body temperature then heats up this small amount of water giving you a nice warm feeling. This is why finding the correct fitting Wetsuit is absolutely essential. Heat does eventually escape through the neoprene but very much like clothing the thicker the Neoprene the warmer you will be.

"Timely delivery and just what m son wanted"
"Lunasurf 8mm boots. These are warm- like really warm . No surprises there; they’re 8mm, sealed and taped and fluffy lining. The surprising thing is that they feel good- light, flexible and you can feel your surfboard. If you need winter boots don’t think twice- these are the bomb. Maybe size down if you’re between sizes (my feet are 9 1/2 and size 9 boots are perfect) . Nice one Luna people"
"I can’t fault them, fooking warm.. and arrived in two days.. what is good as I’m top Scotland.. got boots and gloves and use the 4mm hooded wetsuit, iv tried everything brand out there.. since being a wee shitbag, Luna is in my eyes the warmest gear out there.. I surfed in the cold my hole life so understand what cold is and what good suits are… Luna all way…"
"These boots are SUPER toasty. I had a 3.5 hour surf session last week in NE Scotland and not once did my feet feel cold. The only thing that got me out of the water was hunger! 100% reccomend these boots to anyone surfing in cold waters."
"Best boot’s ever"
"Really good quality products, amazing customer service and the packed arrived to me quickly"
"All the equipment is amazing! 2h in Arctic waters surfing and 0 cold! Best purchase ever! Recommended 1000%"
"Back next season for another set! (unlike some makes of boot that are finished in 8 weeks real usage in the cold and reefs) Brilliant product. Didn't lose their heat over the whole season here in Scotland. Held shape. Very durable, and the sole looking like new."
"I bought the 6/4 Viking Hooded winter suit. I really feel the cold as I'm recovering from long Covid. I'm getting back to kitesurfing so treated myself to this suit. I'm so glad I did. It feels like it's built to last. All the seams are strong and glued very well. I've worn it 5 times now and I've been toasty warm in it. When you use the draw strings to tighten the hood it fits perfectly. The flexibility is good considering the thickness of the suit and hopefully it will loosen a bit more. The customer service was very good too. I found the website was not working well for me and I had trouble finding the size charts. I also had problems paying online so we did it over the phone. I highly recommend this suit. The boots are super warm (very thick as expected so you'll need to adjust those footstraps on your board), but do fill with water. An upgrade could be some way that water can drain out of the bootie. Another upgrade could be for the waterproof changing mat. Two handles on the sides would be great. Thanks guys, much appreciated."
